TECHNO CLASSICA FAIR - Rally legends visit Schuco!!!

TECHNO CLASSICA, the leading fair for vintage and “young timer” cars, which attracted almost 150,000 visitors at the beginning of April 2006 in Essen, was the place to come and admire the original Opel Ascona A Rally car from 1974, displayed on Schuco’s stand.

At the world’s largest indoor fair for classic cars, this winning car was presented as a special attraction as a Piccolo model in an edition limited to 1,000 pieces worldwide. Walter Röhrl also made an appearance and patiently signed many models. There was a rush of enthusiasts on the stand which was sometimes full to overflowing. The fans even had to be held back for a short time to allow the advertised discussion to take place between Andreas A. Berse (Editor of the specialist journal MODELL FAHRZEUG), Uwe Weiler (Managing Director of the SIMBA-DICKIE-GROUP) and Walter Röhrl. The many fans heard interesting facts and amusing anecdotes about rallying over the past thirty years. And fans of our models did not miss out either as they learned much about SCHUCO’s policy for their models. Everyone was extremely surprised and happy when Jochen Berger arrived at Schuco’s stand unexpectedly and willingly signed models for the fans who were there.

We were delighted that this fair, the most important for end customers, was a complete success on its very first day.  Over the following three days, we displayed our entire range of new releases for 2006 and answered many questions from our extremely well informed customers.

At Techno Classica 2006, there have been other fair models for MOTOR KLASSIK, MODELL FAHRZEUG, AUDI TRADITION and STIFTUNG AUTOMUSEUM VW. You can find more information under the Piccolo special models tab.

The Schuco team is looking forward to meeting you in Essen in 2007 !
