Full House in Fürth

As in 2006, many members, who came from all over Germany, had already completed a long journey when, at around 9.30, the Schuco team opened the gates to the Simba-Dickie-Group. Members had the opportunity to visit the Schuco showrooms, to ask questions of Schuco staff and to take part in tours around the other rooms open to the public in the company. There were almost 200 visitors and they were visibly impressed by the comprehensive range of the different brands. At the same time, there was the option of visiting the swap shop and also individual pieces, blanks, the first releases for 2008 and various special editions could be admired. At midday, all the members then met at different points and received information from the Schuco team about the new releases for 2008, the club year 2007 and club services for 2008. After a sumptuous buffet of regional Franconian specialities, we prepared for the next item on the programme. Members were taken by coach from Schuco headquarters in Fürth to the Toy Museum in Nuremberg. There we could join a tour or explore the Toy Museum on our own. On the third floor of the museum, 50 consecutively numbered copies of the book “Schuco – Legendäres Spielzeug” were signed by the author, Rudger Huber, and by former and current directors of Schuco. The proceeds were donated to the charitable support group of the Toy Museum. Some copies are still available in the museum shop.

At the end of this extremely successful day, all the members and the Schuco team gathered in the historic inner courtyard of the museum to enjoy mulled wine and Lebkuchen (gingerbread). In addition to the goodie bag, some lucky people also took the valuable tombola prizes home with them.
