Full House in Fürth

On a Saturday with wonderful weather and mild temperatures, the SCHUCO team could again this year welcome about 200 visitors in the company headquarters in Fürth for the fourth meeting of the SCHUCO COLLECTORS CLUB. Many of them had already had a long journey of several hundred kilometres when the doors to the SIMBA DICKIE GROUP opened at 9:30 a.m. The visitors had the opportunity to look around the SCHUCO showroom, ask the SCHUCO employees questions and take part in guided tours through the other showrooms of the company group. The visitors were visibly impressed by the extensive range of products of the different brands. At the same time, they could visit the swap shop or marvel at unique specimen, blank models, first new releases from 2010, different special models and Max Deumens’ fantastic Piccolo collection. Outside in the courtyard the SCHUCO team exhibited historic vehicles such as a Porsche 911 Speedster, a Barkas B 1000 and a MAN fire engine with turntable ladder as well as modern cars from Audi and BMW. Thanks to the nice weather it was possible this year to demonstrate a vehicle measurement by means of the laser scanner. Employees from the company TAMIYA presented different RC models, from a Fighter Buggy, a Porsche 911 GT3 to a Toyota Hilux and a Scania with trailer which both have light, sound and a 3-gear shift. Furthermore, RC models from CARSON, which are equipped with the new fast brushless engines, could be seen in action. At noon everybody came together and the SCHUCO team looked back on the club year 2009, referred to new releases and the club benefits 2010 and answered all kinds of questions. At the same time the surprise guests from Dernbach – Uwe and Manni Ludolf – arrived. The brothers eagerly signed everything that was put in front of them and answered questions of many kinds. They were also always ready for a short chat. After the discussion forum “20 years of model cars” with A. Berse (chief editor of the magazine “Modellfahrzeug”), there was as usual a rich Franconian buffet. The afternoon was used by many to talk with other club members or with the employees from SCHUCO who again attended the meeting as a complete group. The tombola then marked the end of a successful day. Every club member was given a surprise bag which contained for the first time a special model – the Piccolo VW T3 box van “SCHUCO COLLECTORS CLUB TREFFEN 2009”!
