Toy Fair 2011

01. February 2011

Dear SCHUCO fans,

The 62nd International Toy Fair has opened in Nuremberg. Once again, this day has been anticipated with great excitement by hundreds of model fans and we will not disappoint you. We are delighted to be able to showcase many interesting new model releases.

Following the re-release of the legendary Curvo 1000 in 2009 and the Charly in 2010, this year it is the turn of the Mirakomot 1012 to expand the classic range. Furthermore, the Microracer set with a display and six microracers (assortment of three racers) and a Grand Prix Racer with a driver and filling station attendant, including a petrol barrel on a wooden stand, will also be available.

In 2009, SCHUCO surprised its fans with a unique innovation and supplied two 1:18 models, a VW T2a camping bus and a Porsche 356 A Coupé, with the latest 2.4GHz radio technology. This year will witness a new version of the Porsche 356 A Coupé in light blue under the SCHUCOTRONIC 2.4 label. On the same scale but without propulsion, SCHUCO will present a Porsche 356 A Speedster “Bruce Jennings” and a VW T2a camping bus as well as two colour variations of the Mercedes-Benz L322; as a flat-bed truck and a fire engine with turntable ladder.

Equally promising are the car models on a scale of 1:43 (e.g. BMW 600 with Hymer Eriba Puck, Opel Manta B GT/J, Porsche 914 2.0, Barkas pick-up / tarpaulin). We should also not forget to mention the very latest range of new car models, such as the Audi R8 GT, the Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class and the C-Class (as a limousine and T-Model), the BMW X3 and the Mini Cooper S Countryman.

A new version of a motorcycle classic (Kreidler Florett RSL) on a scale of 1:10 will also be presented.

And collectors and fans of Piccolo models can also look forward to new releases in the area of historic small vans (Barkas B 100 box van, VW T2a camping bus).

Our models on a scale of 1:87 have gained an excellent reputation in the world of agriculture. In addition to the two new Krone models, the BiGX 1100 forage harvester and the GDX550 trailer, there will be five other new model releases: the MB trac 1800 Intercooler, the Schlüter Super Trac 2500 VL, the Challenger MT 600, the Masey Ferguson 8600 and the Valtra S series. There will be further releases of construction and utility vehicle models (e.g. Kässbohrer PistenBully 600, HAMM road roller HD+100, Liebherr bulldozer PR 744) and car models (e.g. a convertible and estate car version of the Fiat 500, the Mini Clubman, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé, the Porsche Panamera, the VW T2a Camper with closed roof and the VW T3 Joker with open roof).

Numerous new releases are offered in Edition 1:32, which was launched in 2008. At the 2011 Toy Fair, SCHUCO will be presenting no fewer than six new models, such as the MB trac Intercooler “Silberdistel” and the Schlüter Super Trac 2500 Vl with dozer blade. Completely new models in this category are the Deutz Fahr DX 230, the Fortschritt ZT 303, the IHC 1455 XK and the John Deere 3120.

With the launch of the “Edition 1:18 Exclusive”, SCHUCO continues to develop the 1:18 series and sets new benchmarks as regards true-to-life detail. But it is not only the detail that meets the demands of a premium product; consecutive numbers are photo-etched onto a small plate on the chassis of each model. Furthermore, each model comes with a small booklet containing photos and information about the original vehicle. A photo-etched sign with the model name and a cleaning cloth to make sure the model always looks as good as new round off the collector’s package. In addition to the VW T1 box van, the VW T1 Samba bus and the Porsche 934 RSR, SCHUCO will present a special dream car for 2011: the Porsche 550 Spyder.

You can find information about the programme of new releases in the respective sections on our website.
