Toy Fair 2013

30. January 2013

Dear SCHUCO fans,

This year sees the 64th anniversary of the international Toy Fair in Nuremberg, Germany. Once again, hundreds of people are really looking forward to this special event. However, it is model collectors, in particular, who await the fair with the greatest anticipation.

After celebrating its 100th anniversary last year, Schuco has again set itself high standards for this year's new releases. The numerous new products will be available across all scales and Schuco ranges.

The ever-popular Piccolos offer a number of interesting new models. They include racing car models (AEC "John Player Special" racing transporter, Lotus 49B #1, Porsche 917K #3 "24h Daytona 1970") and road vehicles (Barkas B1000 fire engine, Porsche 914 police car, VW T1 box van "Toy Museum Nuremberg").

The Schuco Classic Line with its high-quality tin-plated toys also presents a number of new releases. The classic Schuco model "Studio I" will be available this year as a new edition of its famous 1937 predecessor. It is recognisable due to the logo-less wheel rims and the historic weight specification on the underbody. Further tin-plated new releases are the BMW 327 Coupé, the Bugatti, the Studio II kit, the Studio V Mercedes-Benz SSK/L and the legendary Turning Car (Wendeauto) 1010.

The Schuco Edition 1:18 Exclusive, a high-end and beautifully detailed Schuco range, presents two legendary racing car models of the highest quality. The Cooper T51 #8 was driven in 1959 by Jack Brabham and won both the Formula One drivers' and constructors' world championship. The Porsche 934 RSR will be available in 2013 as the famous Vaillant racing version driven by Bob Wollek.

The Schuco Edition 1:43, which is particularly popular with collectors, offers numerous new models of modern and vintage cars.
The Porsche 914 and Porsche 908 versions will receive competition from various models of the VW Beetle and the Porsche 911. The VW T1 will be marketed in this scale as new camping versions and utility vehicles.
Modern day cars will be represented by the new Audi A3 Sportback, the updated Audi R8 and the new VW Beetle convertible.

In the meantime, the Schuco PRO.R43 series has become firmly established in the model portfolio. Therefore, 2013 will witness the arrival of numerous new models which are guaranteed to be the perfect addition to every collection. The vintage miniature sports cars will be available as models of the Porsche 924 Carrera GT, the Porsche 550 Spyder, the Porsche 911 2.1 Carrera RSR Turbo and the Ford Mustang Boss 302. And we have not forgotten modern day sports cars either, for example the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, the Porsche 911 Turbo and the Porsche 911 Cup 3.8 from the 1996 season.

These models are complemented by two utility vehicles in the shape of the Mercedes-Benz 170 V hearse and the VW Beetle flatbed.

This year, the 1:32 scale will be incorporated into the Schuco PRO.R series. Classic cars of the German "economic miracle" period will be presented as PRO.R32 models. The VW T1 box van is sure to be a firm favourite with the fans of agricultural models and will appear in various customer service designs (John Deere-Lanz, Porsche-Diesel, Eicher, Deutz). Furthermore, there will be a version with the livery of the German freight forwarder Dachser.

The range of zinc die-cast models of the Schuco Edition 1:32 has also been expanded. New tractors, such as the Deutz Fahr 8.30 with twin tyres, the Fendt 313 Vario with and without front loader, the Lanz Ackerluft with wings and roof and the Deutz-Fahr Intrac, will get the pulses of the many tractor fans racing. Moreover, the MB trac "Snow White", limited to 2,000 models worldwide, and the Russian Kirovets K-700A are the icing on the cake of the 2013 model portfolio.

There are still a few months to go until the opening of the new motorcycle season, but Schuco is once again proud to present wonderful two-wheeler models on a scale of 1:10. There are three BMW models (R69S, R75/6, R25/3) as well as new versions of the NSU Quickly and the Yamaha SR 500.

The Schuco Edition 1:12 was successfully launched last year. This year, a racing version of the AC Cobra 289 will join the two previously presented versions. With its classic blue paintwork, racing stripes and start number, this model will stand out for it numerous details and exceptional quality.

And last but not least, we wish to present the new releases of the smallest scale in the model portfolio. Besides agricultural vehicles (CLAAS AXION 950, Fliegl ASW 271 Gigant, Fendt 724 Vario), passenger cars (including the Audi Q5, Audi R8 Spyder, Porsche 911 (991), Land Rover 88) and construction vehicles (HAMM road roller and Liebherr wheeled loader 550 2plus2), the Schuco Edition 1:87 also presents new releases in the area of helicopters (various versions of the Eurocopter 145, Agusta Westland AW 609) and racing cars (Porsche 934 RSR Vaillant).

We wish you lots of enjoyment with the Schuco new releases 2013 and hope you find our portfolio wide, accomplished and diverse. Further information can be found in the respective sections.
