VW T1a „Schwäbisch Hall“, 1:43

When, in the early days of the German economic miracle, the demand and the need for a multi-purpose small transport vehicle was growing ever greater, Volkswagen, with its VW Transporter, had just the right vehicle on offer. Available in the body variants of delivery van, bus, flat-bed truck and Samba microbus, the VW T1, lovingly known in Germany as the „Bulli“, was the ideal vehicle for a wide customer-base. After successful advertising, even as early as the 50s based on widespread closeness to the customer, inventive advertisers very soon found the T1, ever-present in the traffic at the time, to be an ideal mobile advertising platform that, because of its unmistakable design, also came across as a good friend. From the mid-50s, the most attractive and creative advertising T1s were those operated by the Schwäbisch Hall Building Society. Under a wind and weather-proof Perspex dome, a miniaturised new housing estate was presented to future savers and builders. 15 of these eye-catching advertising vehicles were in use throughout Germany on behalf of Schwäbisch Hall until well into the 60s and, whether in the daily traffic or in front of many bank branches, they made everyone aware of the building society idea and the slogan „A house builds something else“. Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this legendary VW T1a "Schwäbisch Hall" to a scale of 1:43 in the PRO R line. This line, consisting of resin as the material, stands for exceptional and highly filigree small series models. By means of this highgrade model material, it is possible to produce very rare and exotic exemplary vehicles in perfect quality and also in low and exclusive production runs.

Opel Blitz racing transporter "Porsche" 1:18

The Opel Blitz double-cab articulated truck of the third post-war generation (1960 to 1965) was a further development of the Opel Blitz built between 1952 and 1960, and was designed for a payload of 1.9 tons. Under the much shorter and sloping bonnet
you could expect to find the 70 bhp, 2.6 liter, six-cylinder petrol engine of the Opel Kapitän.

The 'sloping bonnet' Blitz was available in various shapes and sizes, including a pick-up and box van version and a minibus. Furthermore, it was used as a truck tractor unit along with various special superstructures. The Opel Blitz was therefore also used in the world of motor racing to transport cars. Even though it was not suitable for transporting really heavy objects, it was ideal for some lighter-weight racing cars. As a result, the Porsche Racing Team from Stuttgart transformed an Opel Blitz articulated truck into a racing transporter for the safe transportation of three cars at the start of the sixties.

Like all the other service vehicles of the Porsche Racing Team at that time, the Opel Blitz racing transporter was painted in the attractive guards red livery.

Racing cars such as the Porsche 718, the Porsche 904 GTS and the Porsche 906 Carrera were thus transported from the factory in Stuttgart to legendary circuits like Targa Florio in Sicily, Le Mans in France, the renowned Hockenheimring and the Nürburgring.

This famed Opel Blitz 'Porsche' racing transporter is now available from Schuco as a miniature model on a scale of 1:18 in the PRO.R line. This series has become established as a small series model line made of resin that stands for extraordinary and highly sophisticated models. Thanks to this top quality model-making material, it is possible to create extremely rare and exotic model vehicles in perfect quality and with never-before-seen precision.

Set "Edition 70 Jahre Porsche" racing transporter with Porsche 908 short and long tail, 1:43

In the early days of motor sport, racing cars were still transported under their own steam to races in Le Mans and Monza or to the Targa Florio or the Mille Miglia. However, the increasing professionalism of motor sport in the 1950s and the growing amount of equipment which was needed led the racing teams of the day to start using transport vehicles.

In the mid-60s, Porsche came up with the idea for two transport vehicles that were specially designed to meet the requirements of motor sport and able to transport the additionally required engines, gearboxes and chassis parts.

The technical basis for the new Porsche racing transporter was the Mercedes-Benz O317 underfloor-engine bus, produced between 1957 and 1972. Its self-supporting design meant it was ideal for the complex conversion by the Stuttgart-based company Robert Schenk.

The Porsche engineers presented their newly developed 3-litre, eightcylinder race car, the Porsche 908, in October 1967. The model was available as a short and long-tail version. The short-tail 908 had a movable rear flap and an additional spoiler at the front, the long-tail 908 was fitted with a longer tail section, larger tail fins and a movable traverse wing. The decision on which version to use was based on the properties and condition of the individual race tracks.

To mark ‘70 Years of Porsche’, Schuco presents the Mercedes-Benz O 317 racing transporter of the Porsche factory race team as an exclusive miniature in a 1:43 set that also includes metal models of a Porsche 908 short-tail and a Porsche 908 long-tail. The model of the racing transporter is very appealing due to a number of lovingly created details and is just as impressive as the original. Opening the rear door allows you to slide out the ramps to load the racing cars on to the racing transporter, just like the real thing. The truck is able to hold two racing cars. This jubilee edition is limited to just 700 models and comes in a wooden presentation box.
