Because of the considerable demand for small transporters and the major success of the Volkswagen T1 transporter, in-house development of a range of Ford small transporters also started at the Ford factories in Cologne-Niehl. The Ford FK 1000, which was later known as the Ford Taunus Transit, was introduced in 1953 and was manufactured until 1966. With a top speed of 95 km/h, the FK1000 was considerably faster than its competitors the VW T1 (75 km/h) and the Tempo Matador (80 km/h), which led to its nickname of “Racing Transporter” at the time. Schuco presents the die-cast Ford FK 1000 with NSU Max in 1:43 scale. As is expected of Schuco models, a number of key features have been reproduced exactly with the greatest attention to detail.
