Like the M47 Patton battle tank, the American M48 was a tank from the Cold War period. Like its predecessor the M47, it was also officially designated “Medium Tank – 90 mm Gun” by the American troops. It was also known as the “M 48 Patton II”. A total of more than 12,000 M48 tanks were built between 1952 and 1959. The 45-ton battle tank had a crew of 4 soldiers, a top speed of 45 kilometres per hour and a range of just over 100 kilometres overland. The last M48 tanks were used in non-active equipment units by the German Army until 1993. Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this M48G infantry combat vehicle to a scale of 1:87. Military models come with a metal body and chassis. As is expected of Schuco models, a number of key features have been reproduced exactly with the greatest attention to detail.
