The Volkswagen Transporter was also in use after the German Army was established in 1955. It was therefore a logical step for the German Army to also order the successor to the T1, the VW T2, from Volkswagen in greater quantities. The VW T2’s, many of which were delivered to the German Army, were used as personnel carriers, radio vehicles, ambulance vehicles and also as command vehicles, Many T2‘s were still in use until the end of the 1980’s, and were gradually replaced with the Volkswagen T3. Schuco is going to produce a miniature model of this VW T2 bus to a scale of 1:87. Military models come with a metal body and chassis. As is expected of Schuco models, a number of key features have been reproduced exactly with the greatest attention to detail.
