The Unprotected Transport Vehicle (UTF) has replaced the MAN KAT1 series used by the Bundeswehr for over 40 years. By the end of 2018, the Bundeswehr had already received more than 2,000 vehicles of this new truck. Visually very similar to the very similar to its predecessor vehicles, the UTF series covers military payload classes from 5 to 15 tons and features both off-road ABS and an automatic transmission. Manufactured by Rheinmetall MAN Military Vehicles (RMMV), the UTF features a 10.5-liter inline 6-cylinder diesel engine rated at 440 hp.

The Mercedes-Benz 230E (W123) was introduced in 1968 and was the successor to the legendary Mercedes-Benz tail fin. As a 200, the vehicle produced 95 hp and reached a top speed of up to 165 kilometers per hour. Daimler-Benz and its Austrian development partner Steyr-Puch were commissioned to build the Wolf in 1968 as a successor to both the VW Iltis (LKW 0.5 t gl) and the VW Type 181 Kübelwagen (PKW 0.4 t). Based on the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, around 12,000 of the Wolf LKW 0.5t gl vehicles were supplied to the German armed forces in about 50 different variants, divided among the three wheelbases of 2,400, 2,850 and 3,120 mm.

Acquired by the then still very young Bundeswehr in 1958, the MAN 630, which had been specially developed to meet the needs of the troops, was built almost 20,000 times over the years. Always four-wheel drive, the 5-ton truck was equipped with a 136-hp multi-fuel engine with a displacement of 8,275 liters. This high-terrain vehicle was used both in the 630 L2A version with double tires and as the 630 L2AE with single tires for a wide variety of tasks. Among other things, it was also used as a tanker with two permanently installed fuel tanks on the loading area.
