"In 1953, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the Mercedes 180, from the W120 series, as its first completely new passenger car redesign since the war. Also known as the “Ponton Mercedes” (the “Ponton Mercedes”), the 180 was a car for the upper middle class and replaced the pre-war 170V design. The “Ponton” was also the first Mercedes with a self-supporting chassis. The 180 D, introduced in 1954, became popular all over the world as a reliable taxi and was responsible for making the use of diesel engines in passenger cars popular."

As a successor to the famous Ponton Mercedes, the W120, Mercedes-Benz introduced in 1961 the W110 series, also known as the “little tail fin”. With the so-called “tail fin” design feature, the Mercedes-Benz design department, previously known for its conservatism, made a concession to the American automobile design prevailing at the time. Mercedes, however, called them “Peilstege”, as they clearly marked the end of the vehicle when reverse parking

Since the German arms industry was no longer allowed to develop its own tanks after the end of the Second World War, the German Armed Forces, after its foundation in 1955, initially purchased tank models made in America or Britain. "Its dimensions alone make the Kirovets K-700 all, wheel drive tractor something special at every tractor meeting and, of course, in every tractor collection. Developed from the end of the 50s by the Russian manufacturer, Kirovets, the first prototype of the K-700 left the factory gates in Leningrad in July 1962. Between 1962 and 1975, well over 100,000 K-700s were produced. With an 8-cylinder diesel engine, developing 215 hp, sand centre-pivot steering, from 1968, the numbers exported to the GDR were also not insignificant.Known for its extreme reliability and very efficient, especially on large agricultural areas, using a K-700 could triple productivity compared with the Fortschritt ZT 300. However, to be able to make the best, economical use of a Kirovets K-700 in the state-controlled agriculture of the GDR, separate fields had to be joined up to form large acreages. It was also calculated that a K-700 had to be worked for at least 1400 hours per year to be profitable. Since this was impossible with single-shift working, a two-shift system was introduced for agricultural production collectives equipped with the K-700."

John Deere 7800 green 1:32

450787000

€79.99

Deere & Company was founded in Illinois in 1837 by the blacksmith John Deere. Today, John Deere is the world’s leading manufacturer of agricultural vehicles. The first tractor models were built by Deere & Company shortly after the end of the First World War. During the Great Depression from 1931 to 1933, the company allowed farmers who could not afford to make repayments to keep their purchases. With hindsight, this generosity helped the company to acquire many new customers and ensure a high level of customer loyalty. The John Deere 7800, which was the inspiration for our Schuco model, is a heavy-duty tractor with a maximum permissible weight of 11 tonnes. It was produced from 1997 to 2003. Conceived by John Deere engineers for the heaviest off-road terrain, the 7800 is very popular and is still widely used more than 15 years after the vehicle was discontinued

To counter the fall in sales of the Mercedes-Benz Unimog in the agricultural market in the mid-60s, Daimler-Benz decided, in 1967, to develop its own range of tractors on the basis of existing Unimog component units. The result of these efforts was the MB Trac 65/70, presented in 1972, where the 65/70 designation stood for 65 DIN or 70 SAE-hp. Produced until 1991, the MB Trac 1800 Intercooler represented the absolute flagship of the range. 190 of this 180-hp vehicle, equipped with a 6-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine, were produced in the Unimog factory in Gaggenau. Schuco presents the Mercedes-Benz Trac 1800 as a high-quality metal miniature in the popular 1:32 scale   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.

Opel Kadett Rally Coupe 1:18

"Opel presented the first „Kadett“ to the public as early as 1936. It was not until 1962 that the second Kadett series from Rüsselsheim appeared, the Kadett A. This in turn was replaced by the Kadett B as early as 1965. Like its predecessors, the B-Kadett was equipped with a longitudinally mounted front engine and rear-wheel drive. Until it was replaced in 1973, a total of more than 2.7 million B-Kadetts were delivered to a satisfied and very loyal clientele. With its air vents indicated on the C-pillar, the so-called „gill coupe“ is probably the most sought-after variant of the entire series today. Particularly well preserved examples of the Rallye Kadett Coupe are coveted by Opel enthusiasts today, but are also extremely rare and very hard to find."

Named after the highest mountain range in the former Czechoslovakia, the High Tatras, vehicles have been manufactured in Kopivnice under the brand name "TATRA" since 1920. Always one of the most technically creative manufacturers of passenger cars and commercial vehicles, TATRA was nationalized after the Second World War and the company concentrated more and more on the construction of trucks. Thus, from 1961, the Tatra 138 truck was also built. The 10-ton truck with its characteristic round hood had an 11,762 cm3 air-cooled diesel engine with an output of 180 hp. Typical of the so-called "Tatra concept" was also its central tubular frame and all-wheel drive. The Tatra 138 was produced in over 48,000 units until 1972 and exported to over 40 countries.

Developed for a government contract in the 1930s by the Stuttgart design office Porsche, the VW Beetle became the world’s best-selling car over the course of its 65-year production history, overtaking the previous record holder, the Ford T model known as “Tin Lizzy”. The most outstanding features of the “Beetle” were its revolutionary streamlined shape, an air-cooled 4-cylinder boxer engine, a cutting-edge platform chassis and a newly developed torsion bar suspension. Continuous improvements were made to the series over the years. Evidence shows that no less than 78,000 technical changes were made to the VW Beetle from 1948 to 1974.

The ZT 300 was undoubtedly one of East Germany’s most well-known and popular tractors. Designed as a towing tractor, the ZT 300 series was produced from 1967 to 1984 by the publicy owned enterprise Traktorenwerk Schönebeck. This series replaced the hugely successful Famulus series. By 1984, a total of 72,382 vehicles in the Fortschritt series had been produced – a staggering number for a tractor model. The ZT 303, which was produced from 1972, featured an additional front-wheel drive. Thanks to its versatility, it quickly became the bestselling model in the 300 series. In 1984, the ZT 300 series was replaced by the ZT 320 series.   Warning! Not suitable for children under 14 years.
